Bessemer Venture Partners Closes $1.6 Billion Fund, Targets India

Bessemer Venture Partners has closed its largest fund to date, at some $1.6 billion, according to Bloomberg.

The company reportedly told DealBook that the fund has been closed at this amount, and will invest in early-stage companies globally, with around a quarter of the money set to be invested in India.

According to the report, the fund was heavily oversubscribed, with intended commitments of around $2.5 billion, and has seen Bessemer add several new limited partners including large foundations and corporations.

BVP has offices in New York City, New York; Silicon Valley, California; Boston, Massachusetts; Mumbai, India; and Herzliya, Isreal. It manages over $2 billion of venture capital invested in around 130 companies worldwide.
